The Granada Geopark project is an initiative to protect and inform about the geological features of the territory and its continental sedimentary record, the most complete of the Quaternary era on the planet.
Due to its exceptional geological, landscape and cultural richness, 47 municipalities have been selected from the so-called Hoya de Guadix and Baza, a groove (depression) that began to form during the process that originated the Alpine system.

We have prepared routes specially designed to offer breathtaking landscapes and disseminate information, with constantly updated content, on the landscape, cultural and geological aspects of the entire Hoya de Guadix-Baza.
With Geoparque Granada you will get to know the Desert of Gorafe and Los Colorados and the Megalithic Park of Gorafe.
With our excursions we do not offer you tedious information full of facts and figures, but we will help you to understand, observe and recognise fossils, minerals, deserts, traces of ancient earthquakes unique in the world, ancient necropolis, archaeological and paleontological sites and landscapes that will surprise you!
