Gorafe: A Treasure in the Heart of the Granada Geopark

Gorafe, home to the largest Megalithic Park in Europe, is the jewel in the crown of the Granada Geopark. This territory, together with its impressive badlands, constitutes one of the most complete Quaternary continental sedimentary records on the continent. Located in a central point of the "Hoya de Guadix-Baza" basin, a post-orogenic landscape of astounding beauty, Gorafe offers visitors various accommodation options, from hotels to traditional cave houses, with very affordable prices (approximately €26 per person for stays of at least two nights).

Just 30 km from Guadix and about 100 km from Granada capital, the village has basic services oriented towards tourism, such as medical assistance, supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, and bars. On Saturday nights, at Casa Juana, you can enjoy a flamenco show with prior reservation.

The Megalithism Interpretation Center opens its doors for guided tours every day, except Mondays, at 12:00 and 17:00 (schedules subject to change). Groups of more than 15 people can contact the center to coordinate a personalized visit. To explore the surroundings, Geopark Granada proposes 4x4 routes and hiking excursions.

Gorafe is proud to have the Starlight certification, which endorses the very low light pollution in the area!
