NATURAL PARK OF CAZORLA, SEGURA AND LAS VILLAS
Over the years we have developed itineraries that not only cover the trails and trails of the future Geological Park of the Valleys north of Granada, but taking advantage of many paths traveled with enthusiasm and interest, we share with you many different experiences inside and outside the limits from the park. .
The first itinerary we offer runs through a natural park, Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas. To travel and take advantage of the visit we will need all day, and we offer, for those who wish a walking tour (1 hour, walking on an easy road) to the "Pico Cabaña", with a fantastic view of the surroundings and the reservoir of the Bolera lake.
We will stop at the birth of the Guadalquivir, one of the most important rivers of the Iberian Peninsula, which has established among its banks the most important cultures of the history of Spain: the Roman and the Arab.
The Guadalquivir River, partially navigable, runs more than 650 km before flowing into the Atlantic Ocean.
During the itinerary it is not difficult to find Iberian ibex, deer and foxes, as well as large birds of prey such as vultures and eagles. We can visit karstic areas with the characteristic erosion called "lapiaz", where wells and caves are hidden among its grooves.
During the excursion we will pass through several control points that delimit the protection areas of the natural parks and we will reach the springs of another important river, the Segura, with an underground source explored in part (about 300 meters) by diving teams.
The Segura River flows 350 km to the east and pours its waters into the Mediterranean Sea.
The return will be made by a paved road that we will cover in just over an hour.
SIERRA DE BAZA
It had been completed in the past few months, but we have not yet been able to completely refine it following changes made by the geominiero institute which has blocked access to ancient mines that we could have visited before.
Even if no explanations were given, the accesses were closed following the accident of a child preexisting in an illegal well. The excursion can be done but the ancient mines cannot be visited.
SIERRA DE CASTRIL
WE ARE WORKING TO
OFFER NEW ROUTES
Although we have a route called Sierra de Baza, the recent closure of some tracks and the mines we visited in the past requires us to redesign the recently completed tour and delay the publication.
